It was 1993 when Hungarian band Cadaveres De Tortugas was founded. Their weapon of choice: a combination of eighties' Bay Area Thrash mixed with New York Hardcore, the pulse of Hip-Hop grooves and an extra shot of Punk attitude. This stuff is made for the stage and the energetic presentation accounts for a show that will please all stagedivers. Another innovative idea of the band was to use two languages to write lyrics in - English and Spanish. It's unique in Hungary and it was also a good idea to get the Metal fans' attention. The boys' work caught the Hungarian Metal media's attention (Metal Hammer H, Rockinform) right from the very first demo and praising articles and concert reviews showed up soon. It's a fact that the band's whole-hearted enthusiasm for music wins everybody over. As years went by, C.D.T. became the symbol of DIY in Hungary. In autumn 1999, Cadaveres de Tortugas was struck by tragedy: the band's vocalist-guitar player Tibor Zsombok Jr. died in a car crash. After struggling with uncertainty for the first weeks following the accident, they decided to stay together and continue making music. At first it was out of the question to search for a new member - because the boys are not only a group of musicians but first of all friends - but after a few concerts they felt that a second guitarist was really necessary to preserve the music's intensity and strength. This is how Péter Kecskés (ex-Neck Sprain) was found and has been working with the band ever since. Despite the fantastic welcoming the latest albums had, the main strength of Cadaveres de Tortugas will always be the live performances. C.D.T. supported well-known bands like D.R.I., G.B.H., Integrity, Fury Of Five, Cro-Mags and Slayer. The music works on stage and leaves the audience begging for more. As a matter of fact, the band regularly plays at the biggest festival of Middle- and Eastern Europe (Pepsi Sziget). After many successful tours across Hungary and some abroad sets, the band is now preparing to conquer the rest of Europe. In the meantime, the public in the Benelux had the opportunity to meet up with the band several times already… and there's more to come, since C.D.T. just got a distribution contract with Dutch labels Two Fat Men (for Germany, Austria, UK, Ireland and the Benelux) and Sonic Rendezvous (for the Benelux).
